Cameron Brae was founded by the late David Hazlett over 50 years ago. David was a man with vision and the determination to make that vision a reality. Today, Andrew, Sarah, Rebekah and Georgina Hazlett work closely with the Board of Cameron Brae to continue their father's legacy by investing in existing and new relationships, creating and developing opportunities and delivering exceptional projects.
The Cameron Brae team takes immense pride in its current and completed projects. Cameron Brae's track record, reputation, and commitment to achieving the best outcomes have established the family-owned business as one of Sydney’s industry leaders.
The leadership team honours David Hazlett’s legacy while focusing on the group’s current and future property ventures.
Cameron Brae Board of Directors
The Board of Directors consists of trusted advisors who worked alongside founder David Hazlett and the team before forming the Board. Collectively, the Board understands the needs of this family-owned professional business and provides guidance and decision-making that reflect the Hazlett family’s shared values and long-term vision.
Before his passing in 2021, David Hazlett established the corporate structure to ensure the continuation of the Group’s activities, including forming the Cameron Brae Board.
Simon Basheer, Chairman
With nearly 40 years of experience in urban development having held leadership roles at Delfin Limited and more recently at Lendlease, Simon brings invaluable expertise and vision to his role as Chairman.
His experience spans greenfield, mixed-use and apartment markets, making his leadership pivotal in our industry’s rapidly evolving landscape.
Simon currently runs his own specialist advisory company and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
His past roles as National President and NSW President of the UDIA (Life Member of both), further reinforce his status as an industry leader.
Mary Digiglio
Mary is the Managing Partner of the commercial and family law firm Swaab, where she also leads a team of property, planning, and project lawyers.
As Cameron Brae Group’s chief legal adviser, she provides counsel on both day-to-day matters and high-level strategic initiatives.
In 2018, she assisted in establishing the Hazlett Family Council to guide the continuation of David Hazlett’s legacy. Mary is an Accredited Property Law Specialist and a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Andrew Hazlett
Andrew has been with Cameron Brae for over 25 years.
He began as a manager in the Group’s trading operations before transitioning to property projects and asset management.
Having worked closely with his father across various business ventures, Andrew has a deep understanding of the Group’s operations, particularly in Sydney’s southwest and the NSW South Coast.
He also represents the extended Hazlett family on the Board.
Andrew is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Malcolm Katon
Malcolm is a Senior Partner at Hancock & Associates and has served as Cameron Brae Group’s tax advisor for over 30 years.
He has played an instrumental role in the Group’s financial growth, working closely with David Hazlett and providing strategic accounting and taxation services.
Malcolm is a Chartered Accountant, a Registered Tax Agent, and a Chartered Tax Advisor.
He holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Diploma in Financial Planning.
Matthew Faddy
Matthew brings over 30 years of experience in finance and real estate to Cameron Brae, having held leadership roles at GPT Group and Lend Lease.
As the founder of Oceanwin Advisory, his expertise in strategy, investment management, and asset growth contributes to the ongoing expansion of Cameron Brae’s portfolio and the strengthening of its strategic direction.
